On December 4th, 2023, the Pearl River Delta Research Institute of Tsinghua University officially introduced the PT500MINI small rotor mechanical fault simulator. This experimental platform aims to promote the development of the research institute in related scientific research fields and enhance the research level of related technologies.

It is understood that PT500MIN | Small Rotor Mechanical Fault Simulator is a high-precision and high-efficiency experimental equipment that can simulate various faults of gearboxes during actual operation, including gear wear, poor lubrication, bearing faults, etc. By simulating and analyzing these faults, researchers can gain a deeper understanding of the working principle and performance of gearboxes, providing a basis for the optimization design and fault diagnosis of gearboxes. In order to ensure the smooth introduction and use of the experimental platform, the relevant staff of the research institute conducted long-term market research and equipment selection. When selecting equipment suppliers, the research institute not only considered the technical parameters and performance of the equipment, but also rigorously evaluated the supplier's technical documentation and after-sales service.

 In the end, the research institute chose Valentian teaching equipment as the supplier and reached a cooperation intention with it. After the equipment procurement was completed, the staff of the research institute installed and debugged the experimental platform. During this process, the staff of the research institute worked closely with the technical personnel of VALENIAN to ensure that the installation and debugging of the experimental platform met the needs and standards of the institute. At the same time, the institute also organized relevant training and lectures to provide training on the use and maintenance of the experimental platform for researchers, ensuring that they could practice and master the operation and usage methods of the experimental platform.

The introduction of the PT500MIN small rotor mechanical fault simulator will provide strong support for the research work of the institute. By using this experimental platform, researchers at the research institute can gain a deeper understanding of the fault mechanism and diagnostic methods of gearboxes, improve the research level and quality of related scientific research projects. At the same time, the introduction of the experimental platform will also promote cooperation and exchange between the research institute and relevant domestic and foreign scientific research institutions, and promote the development and application of related technologies.


On October 18, 2015, the People's Government of Guangdong Province signed an agreement with Tsinghua University to jointly establish the Tsinghua Pearl River Delta Research Institute in Guangzhou. The research institute is a public institution in Guangdong Province, operated and managed in an enterprise style manner, implementing a dean responsibility system under the leadership of the board of directors.

The research institute adheres to the motto of Tsinghua University, which is "Self improvement and Virtue Carrying Materials". It deeply participates in the implementation of the national innovation driven development strategy, promotes the transformation and upgrading of Guangdong's industrial structure, cultivates and develops strategic emerging industries, and assists in the construction of Tsinghua University as a world-class university. Based in Guangzhou, serving Guangdong, radiating to Hong Kong and Macao, vigorously promoting technological innovation, cultivating and gathering high-end talents, and developing high-tech industries.

The research institute focuses on institutional and mechanism innovation, with a focus on the fields of semiconductor and integrated circuits, industrial software and information technology, precision instruments and intelligent equipment, biomedicine and medical devices, advanced materials and energy conservation and environmental protection, and high-end science and technology innovation services. It is committed to building functional sectors such as technology research and development, enterprise incubation, venture capital, talent cultivation, and international cooperation, and constructing a highly efficient science and technology innovation system that deeply integrates industry, academia, research, and capital. As of October 2022, the research institute has established 32 research and development platforms, including Micro Nano Energy R&D Center, Smart Grid Technology R&D Center, Energy Advanced Measurement and Control Technology and Equipment R&D Center, Process Industry Intelligence R&D Center, Wireless Broadband Communication Technology R&D Center, Cross Media Intelligence and Brain like Robot Technology R&D Center, Medical Optics Technology R&D Center, Semiconductor Packaging Carrier Material R&D Center, and introduced a number of high-tech projects to settle in Guangzhou. In terms of investment incubation, the wholly-owned investment platform of the research institute, Guanghua Chuangxin Investment Co., Ltd., is supported by the research institute's R&D platform and oriented towards national and Guangdong Province's strategic emerging industries. It promotes the industrialization of high-tech projects through direct investment business, fund collection, and other means. As of October 2022, a total of 46 high-tech industry projects have been invested and cooperated in. At the same time, the research institute has adopted a market-oriented operation mode and formed an incubation service system mainly led by technology, financing support, and value-added services. It has created an enterprise incubation chain covering maker spaces, incubators, accelerators, and industrial parks, providing services for enterprise innovation and growth, direct management and cooperation management, system output, and resource sharing. There are over 900 incubated enterprises, including more than 60 high-tech enterprises. More than 100 high-level talents have been introduced and gathered, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, experts in national major talent projects, high-level talents in Guangdong Province, professors, and scholars. The research institute actively participates in scientific and technological cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. In April 2019, it established the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Innovation Center, which has become a demonstration base for scientific and technological innovation cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. Since October 2019, it has been deeply involved in the construction of the National Technology Innovation Center in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and is one of the initiators of the center. It will become the basic construction force of the center headquarters. In terms of international cooperation, the research institute actively builds international and domestic technology transfer networks, and has built seven overseas innovation centers in Asia, Europe, and North America, relying on overseas centers to carry out international scientific and technological innovation cooperation and introduce high-tech project teams.

The research institute will strive to become the "locomotive" of technological innovation in emerging industries in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and the leader of new research and development institutions that integrate innovative resources from the source, creating a highland for the gathering of innovative and entrepreneurial talents, and a base for the gathering of strategic emerging industries and future industries.
