Recently, the construction of the Intelligent Testing Technology Equipment Laboratory at Northwestern Polytechnical University was completed. The laboratory is equipped with key equipment such as BTS100 mechanical fault simulator and PT900 customized machine vibration simulator.

The BTS100 mechanical fault simulator is mainly designed for fault diagnosis and full life prediction of rolling bearings in aircraft engines. As a key component of the load-bearing transmission system in aircraft engines, rolling bearings are prone to failure under variable operating conditions of high speed, high temperature, and high load. This test bench conducts accelerated bearing life experiments to estimate the life data of bearings under normal stress, achieving single fault warning and accurate maintenance decision-making, avoiding accidents and errors caused by faults, and improving the availability and economy of engines.

The PT900 fault simulation machine vibration simulator can simulate and reproduce common fault vibration signals of aircraft engines. The internal components of aircraft engines are prone to mechanical damage after prolonged use, resulting in significant vibration and noise, which reduces operational efficiency. This test bench uses vibration signal analysis to collect vibration acceleration signals of gears and bearings under different damage conditions, applies machine learning methods for classification and prediction, and explores potential features of fault data, greatly improving the efficiency and accuracy of fault diagnosis.

The establishment of the Intelligent Testing Technology Equipment Laboratory at Northwestern Polytechnical University will provide important support for the condition based maintenance and health management of aviation machinery and equipment, and promote the research and development of vibration diagnosis in the aviation field in China.
