The predecessor of the school was the Peili Craft School founded by New Zealand international friend Louis Aiwu in 1942. In 1958, it was rebuilt as the Gansu Machinery Manufacturing School. In 1962, it merged with five vocational schools including coal, electricity, light industry, heavy industry, and postal and telecommunications to form the Gansu First Industrial School. In 1974, it was renamed Lanzhou Industrial School. In 1989, it was rebuilt as Lanzhou Industrial College. In 2012, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Ganlei Province, it was rebuilt as Lanzhou Institute of Technology. For 80 years, schools have been built from work Driven by work and taking pride in it, we have gradually formed a pattern of education that prioritizes the use of traditional Chinese characters, emphasizes application, and serves the local community and industry. There are currently two campuses in Lanzhou, Qilihe Campus and Lanzhou New Area Campus, covering an area of 1784.18 acres, with a building area of 824800 square meters, a collection of 932800 books, 964100 e-books, and a total value of 171 million yuan for teaching instruments and equipment. Highlighting the construction of connotation, we have achieved fruitful results in education. There are currently over 10000 full-time students enrolled in regular schools. There are 15 teaching units and 36 undergraduate majors, covering 5 major disciplines including engineering, economics, management, literature, and art. Since 2012, there have been 3 provincial key disciplines, 1 national first-class professional construction point, 10 provincial first-class professional construction points, 1 provincial characteristic major, 4 provincial innovation and entrepreneurship pilot majors, and 6 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers; Received 30 teaching achievement awards from Gansu Province, 1 national first-class course, and 36 provincial-level first-class courses, MOOCs, and quality resource sharing courses.
